Instructor
Meet T.J. Young
T.J. Young started his career in the United States Marine Corps in October of 2000 as an Infantryman. Deployed to over 13 different countries in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, T.J. saw combat operations in Iraq serving in Fallujah, Nasiriyah, and Al Kut. In April of 2003 T.J. was part of a high-profile rescue operation for a lost/captured Army Soldier. T.J. has also been a part of an International Peacekeeping Force in Kosovo (KFOR), Force Protection Element in Djibouti, and Close Protection Team for various high ranking military Officers, CIA assets, and VIP’s in Iraq.
Service Background
Public Service and Protection
At home, T.J. served his community as a Denver Police Officer for 12 years in Patrol, Investigations, Special Enforcement Teams, city impact teams, and participated in numerous high profile multi-jurisdictional Task Force operations. T.J. has been tasked numerous times with conducting security operations for dignitaries and Presidential visits earning a Chief of Police Unit Citation.
Following the Denver Police Department, T.J. would go on to become a Sergeant and Captain in a statewide Shared Law Enforcement Reserve with the Colorado Rangers and finish his Law Enforcement career with the Commerce City Police Department. T.J. has extensive experience in private security operations over the years to include patrol, investigations, management, and Close and Executive Protection. This included uniformed force protection for an air and space organization, plain clothes armed surveillance and protection for a global tech company, as well as leading a residential security team for a local professional sports team owner. T.J. has also provided Executive Protection for several dignitaries, politicians, and high-net-worth individuals.
